Roadmap

RSSF is committed to implementing open standards relevant to BGP-4 and RPKI as developed by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF). In the coming 24 months we will focus on the following topics:

  • OpenBGPD: Multi-core support for Adj-RIB-Out calculations

  • OpenBGPD: Use “swisstables” instead of red-black trees for RIBs

  • OpenBGPD: performance benchmarking tools “BGP-canary” and “BGPblaster”

  • rpki-client: Implement “validation re-reconsidered” algorithm

  • rpki-client: Erik Synchronisation protocol support

  • rpki-client: Canonical Cache Representation support

  • rpki-client: refactor signed object validation process

Pending user input and contributions of resources:

  • BMP (we'd love to hear your user stories!)

  • BGPsec

    • OpenRTR (RTR server in OpenBSD)

    • RPKI CA implementation

  • SNMP (or ... has SNMP been overtaken by our recent OpenMetrics work?)
